Pancake Ice on The Poudre

When the conditions are right, a warm day and cold night, pancake ice forms on the Poudre River and can be seen early in the mornings. I’ve seen this plenty of times on the Great Lakes, but it’s fun to see it form in the rapids on my walk to work.
